Austbrokers Bloodstock is a team of young professionals with many years of experience in the Bloodstock Insurance Industry. Most of our team have been in the industry for many years and you may remember us working for Wilburtins which was one of the businesses which came together to form Austbrokers Bloodstock.

While we all value expertise in all it's forms, our knowledge does not just come from books and a production line of management schools but rather from being hands on. Even the youngest of us have worked nearly our whole working life in this business. So young in years does not mean young in experience.

We all have our own personal style but we are bonded by our desire to be the best in our business.

The team is led by Tony Stein who has a career of more than 25 years in the business. When asked about what he does:

"What do I like about this job? The people and the horses. Everyone in this game will all agree that the horse is the most beautiful animal and is one that inspires. There is nothing like it."

After a childhood spent around horses in Port Macquarie, Tony found his way to Sydney and started his career with one of the pioneers of the Bloodstock Insurance Industry. That was 25 years ago and he hasn't looked back. He has been with Wilburtins which later became Austbrokers Bloodstock since 1996 and has found his niche.

Not only is Tony an insurance broker - he is a keen racehorse owner, breeder and trader and as such he walks the walk of someone who knows firsthand the issues that owners face on a day to day basis. He is a well known and respected figure in the racing community.

Tony leads a department that brings together learned expertise to give a full service resource that is widely regarded as the best in the industry. Our team members have different skill sets and knowledge in every facet of the thoroughbred industry and beyond. We also specialise in the insurance of other livestock including alpacas, cattle, ostrich, emu and other exotic animals.
